First Impressions

Getting to know Kyle and Victoria has been awesome. Since the first time we met at a little sandwich shop in Cartersville, we knew we liked them. For me, it was the fact that Victoria is a fellow onion-hater. For my wife, I believe it had something to do with Kyle taking her suggestion about ordering a chicken salad sandwich. Food is probably too important to us.

The more we got to know them, the more we liked them. As individuals, Kyle and Victoria are remarkable; confident, intelligent, and effortlessly good looking. Together, they are a force of nature. Victoria is in school to become a doctor, and Kyle is an engineer, so they weren’t intimidating at all. Besides, my wife and I are relatively accomplished at keeping a small child alive, so we had to tone it down a little.

In all seriousness, Victoria and Kyle are super down to earth and playful, as we learned during their wedding day. I have a pretty lengthy blooper reel of Victoria’s spontaneous dance moves and elaborate hand gestures. At one point, during sunset, she pulled a grape off the vine, threw it towards me and landed a direct hit on my camera lens, which was the most impressive thing I had seen in a while.

It became clear to us that Kyle and Victoria are the whole package, and their wedding was southern elegance at its finest. Nestled in the mountains of North Georgia, complete with a creek, a waterfall, and impeccable landscaping (that may or may not have compelled me to pull out a rake when I got home), it was nothing short of beautiful.

Congratulations to Kyle and Victoria! We wish you many many years of happiness!

A Magical Evening

Last month we had the pleasure of filming Haylee and Steven's wedding, and to say it was special just wouldn't do it justice. Haylee and Steven have such a strong and quiet bond. They are so joyful and comfortable when they are together. That kind of steadfast love is contagious, and it carried everyone around them to a special place.

Haylee and Steven had a Harry Potter themed wedding and it was another great way to have fun with their wedding and their guests. Theme weddings are one of many creative ways to connect with guests, really giving the couple a chance to showcase their love and their personality all at once. Every detail of Haylee and Steven’s wedding was creative and whimsical. They had"Have You Seen This Wizard?" posters, Harry Potter themed jewelry, and even Butter Beer! Our favorite detail was the Marauder's map program that Steven designed, and we loved animating it in our film.

Wedding venues are another way to showcase a theme. The Lee University Chapel created a cathedral vibe reminiscent of Hogwarts. The reception at The Old Woolen Mill felt straight out of the London train station scenes!  The guests loved all the fun nods to the Harry Potter world throughout the night and it really created a relaxed and open atmosphere.

We love theme weddings and we had a blast at the Gaffin wedding. If you’re thinking about going for a wedding that really shares how fun and magical your love is, try it! It's safe to say this one was for the books!

Leslie and Dave’s engagement party was the best pre-wedding shindig we have been to in a long time. They were the very first couple to book an event at the Knoxville Public House, a vintage industrial facility by the interstate in old Knoxville, Tn.
